What data we collect

  • Data you provide through the contact forms: name, email address, telephone number (optional), reason for contacting us and any message.
  • Data from the tax checklist and the Tax Check: name (optional), email address and the answers you choose to send us.
  • Book notification sign-up: email address.
  • Technical data recorded automatically when a form is submitted: IP address, date and time, for security purposes and to prevent abuse.

Why we process it

  • To respond to your enquiries and provide the information requested โ€” steps taken prior to entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • To deliver the professional services engaged, where applicable โ€” performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • To send you the updates you asked for, such as the release of a book โ€” consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time.
  • To comply with legal obligations, including accounting, tax and anti-money-laundering requirements โ€” legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).
  • For website security โ€” legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

How long we keep it

Contact enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are kept for as long as necessary to handle them and in any event for no longer than 24 months.

Data relating to professional engagements is kept for ten years from the end of the relationship. This is the retention period prescribed for accounting records by Article 2220 of the Italian Civil Code and, for customer due diligence obligations, by Italian anti-money-laundering legislation (Legislative Decree 231/2007).

Data processed on the basis of consent, such as sign-up for book release notifications, is kept until consent is withdrawn.

After those periods, data may be retained only for as long as necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

Who it is shared with

Your data is not disclosed publicly or sold to third parties for marketing purposes. It is processed, only to the extent necessary, by the suppliers that enable us to deliver the service:

  • Aruba S.p.A. โ€” website hosting and email, with servers in the European Union.
  • Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH) โ€” sending our reply emails and managing the list of contacts who receive the checklist and our communications, with servers in the European Union.
  • Cal.com โ€” booking management, only if you choose to book a consultation.
  • Google LLC โ€” only if you consent to third-party cookies and view embedded YouTube videos.

Some suppliers may process data outside the European Union: where this occurs, the transfer takes place on the basis of the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

Your rights

You may at any time request access to your data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of processing, and data portability, and you may object to processing. You may also withdraw any consent given, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

To exercise these rights write to segreteria@studiomatera.eu. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, garanteprivacy.it).
